Hello, my Name is Natascha, I Like Story Based Singleplayers, Animated Movies and Fanfiction

I was born in 1999 in Winterthur Switzerland and spent a large amount of my youth obsessing over works of fiction and drawing. I have a big interest in interpersonal relationships of all kinds and depicting them.

MY STYLE
Everything I create has a Rhythm. It's all about Movement...
...it's all about Dynamics

My style captures motion and plays with composition and perspective to avoid rigidness at all cost, all to support feel, emotion and storytelling. Wether I write or draw, it's often about character dynamics and resulting (inter)action. A pretty sure-fire way to get me to create anything is to hit me with a silly idea and let me run with it.

MY SKILLSET
I have a wide understanding of all design principles that go into videogames and user experience.

Since I’ve started drawing at a young age, this is my most refined skill, be it sketches or fully rendered pieces. I’ve been sharing my journey on Instagram since 2013 and also offer commissions there when time allows it.

I have a good sense for movement and love bringing scenes and characters to life. I have a base understanding of animation principles and can use them in 2D and 3D softwares.

I’ve only started 3D modelling during my studies and would love to expand my skillset in the matter. I have good 3Dimensional thinking and mostly form characters out of primitive shapes since low-poly counts are important in my field of study.

During my studies I’ve often worked on sound design and I am passionate about good Audio that fits and enhances the product.

During my studies I’ve worked a lot with Unity. Wether it be importing, writing C# Code, lighting, animating or working with Navmeshs. I’m well versed with the program and know how to help myself when I’m stuck. While I wouldn’t call myself a coder, I’m very familiar with Unity’s tools and a few plugins for sound and storytelling.

I like to work in an organized manner and don’t mind jumping in in other disciplines when help is needed. I have good teamwork abilities and a good sense for problem-prevention. 

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Studying Game Design

Game Design at ZHdK provided me with a wide range of abilities about all aspects that go into videogame creation. Most helpful were teachings about Design Pillars and Real Life Equivalent feeling, to help sharpen my ideas and goals. What do we want to accomplish with this project? How do we want players to feel? And how do we support that with the mechanics?

Pedagogy

Before committing to art I was on track to become a primary school teacher. I've completed the FMS with focus on pedagogy where we've received a basic instruction regarding the field of education, which still interests me today.

"I'm not bored that's just the default expression of my face."

Obviously playing videogames and drawing. Aside from that I love writing stories and thinking about my own characters and their universes. You might have seen less flattering images of me on the internet at a shooting range, so I have to come clear and admit I was born into a sportshooting family, hence I teach sportshooting to teens and help hundreds of “Obli-Gänger” complete their military Program each year, despite not being a gun-nut at all. 

I was a Nintendo kid and grew up with a big Zelda obsession, before expanding my interests to Final Fantasy, Animal Crossing, From Software, Fire Emblem, Pokémon and much more. One of my favourite Series is Ace Attorney and I’ll gladly play anything with horses in it. Games I keep returning to are Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, because the combat flow feels immensely satisfying to me, and The Last Guardian because there is a severe lack of games with actually good dragon-esque companions. I love action, suspense, humour and spectacle be it via text, cutscenes or gameplay, tripple A or Indie, I’m in. 

I love animation, no matter if it’s 2D or 3D. The more flourish the better. I can’t list which movies and series I like because there are too many. Just know that if it contains themes of companionship, non-romantic love and sillyness, I probably loved it. 

I always loved biology and it’s very easy for me to find fascination for living things and systems around me. Be it insects, vertebrates, plants or space.
